## Connect

Pick the branch that matches where you run. Reading public lists needs no connection.

- Chat apps (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok): a chat cannot add a connector to itself. Send the person to https://curated.network/app/dashboard/connect, which opens their app's settings with the Curated address (https://mcp.curated.network) filled in or ready to paste. They approve access in the browser. Full steps: https://curated.network/agent-setup/instructions.
- Agents that can run commands (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and similar): if the person gave you a Curated key (it starts with crtd_pat_), add the remote MCP server https://mcp.curated.network named Curated with the header "Authorization: Bearer <key>".
  - Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user Curated https://mcp.curated.network --header "Authorization: Bearer <key>"`
  - Codex: in ~/.codex/config.toml add `[mcp_servers.Curated]` with `url = "https://mcp.curated.network"` and `http_headers = { "Authorization" = "Bearer <key>" }`
  - Cursor: in ~/.cursor/mcp.json, under mcpServers, add `"Curated": { "url": "https://mcp.curated.network", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <key>" } }`
  - Other clients: use their remote (streamable HTTP) MCP setting with the same address and header.
  - No key: add the same address without a header and the client opens browser sign-in. The person can make a key at https://curated.network/app/dashboard/connect?with=code.
  - Keep the key in the client's user-level settings only. Never echo it, commit it or write it into shared project files. Some clients need a restart or new session before the tools appear.
- Then call account_context and confirm the account before writing. New lists stay private; publish only when the person asks.
- Cannot connect (restricted network, plan or policy): read public lists without an account at https://curated.network/discover, and prepare picks without claiming they were saved.

Published free lists can be read without an account. An account is needed to save a list, follow a curator, or receive updates. Paid lists have public previews; access and pricing are shown on each list. Private lists and restricted picks are not public discovery content.
